What can I do with it?
It is an online wall where everybody who has the address can place something. You can create a wall and give the students the address. then they can go to the page and add what a post-it to the wall. You can use it to activate the knowledge the children already have about a subject, you can let them post a question about a subject, etc..
Where can you find it?
www.padlet.com
Who can use it?
Everybody can use it for free.
Pro’s:
- It is a fully web based program
-It is free and easy to use.
-It will automatically save the posts
Con’s:
- Everybody needs a device with an internet connection to be able to place a post. You can let students work together, but it will take more time, because you can only post one message at a time
-When there are a lot of students posting on the wall it will take a long time to talk about them all.
-When there is a big group posting on the wall it can get too cluttered to read
Would I use it?
I would use it in my class if we had more devices. I only have three computers I can use, so it would take too much time to let
every student post on the wall. Of I would do it in a group, the groups would be too big.
T-pack example:
Knowledge content: History, the Middle Ages.
Pedagogical content: At the beginning of a new theme you can ask the children what they already know about it and what they want to learn about. This enables you to adjust to the level of the students and it activates the knowledge the students already have and creates an framework for your classes.
