What can I do with it?
Windows Moviemaker is a program to edit your own movies. It enables you to edit your own footage or pictures into one. You can add audio separate (voice over or music). When you just want to make a nice presentation of some pictures of images you can just add them to the program and customize them as you please.
- It is available on the Microsoft Office pack.
- It enables you to make your own films
- It looks en works like a lot of other Microsoft programs, so children learn to work with it quickly
Con’s:
- The more advanced features are more difficult to find and to use
- You can’t subtract the audio from the video if it is in one file
- You have to be careful how you save it; as a project or as a film. If you save it as a film, you can’t edit anymore, if you only save it as a project you can only view it in Windows Moviemaker
Would I use it?
Yes I would use it and I have used it many times. I use it in my private life, making compilations of pictures. And I have used it in my studies, editing Christmas films, making stop-motions or interviewing an expert. But I have also used it during my internships. The assignment was to make your own fairytale. Fist they had to choose a fairytale and draw a storyboard showing the five most important moments. Then they had to take pictures portraying these moments and edit them in Windows Paint. And finnaly they had to record the fairytale and edit them in Windows Moviemaker on order to make their own version of the Fairytale.
T-pack example:

Pedagogical content: Knowing the plot of a story and how to take a good picture.
Technological content: Knowing how to work with a digital camera, record your voice, work with Microsoft Paint and Windows Moviemaker.
